Improving Movement for Deck: Training, Work and Play

This workshop will introduce a number of key principles of moving efficiently and safely, particularly when operating under heavy loads. These will be experienced by attendees through actions rooted in gymnastics, power lifting, and Olympic lifting. Awareness of the spine, hips, knees, abdominals, and weight distribution is key when analyzing and improving movement. Being aware of your own posture and alignment can have positive effects on performance – and keep you safe from injury. Topics such as muscle recruitment, joint mobility and control, as well as flexibility will be explored. The session will include lots of advice on creating natural training routines outside of the gym, both in terms of cardio training and strength and conditioning training.
