MARITIME PAEDIATRICS: When a Child Falls Ill

Having the confidence to deal with a sick child or a medical emergency involving an owner or guests’ child is of vital importance onboard. This workshop will include a review of resuscitation guidelines for children, how and when to call for assistance, assessing a child, the recognition of critical symptoms and advice on how to communicate with a child and their family in a medical scenario. A useful taster, covering many of the areas briefly that comprise the one day onboard specialist paediatric training course.
