ACREW was founded by Abi McGrath along with Captain Aeneas Hollins, Captain Will Kaye, Captain Dan Jackson and our sister company ZoomYachting Turkey.

At ACREW we aim to deliver high–standard worldwide events which introduce professional development opportunities to superyacht captains and crew. Captains and crew are invited to attend free workshops, discussion groups, networking and social activities at our events in Yacht Shows, Shipyards and Marinas to further develop and progress their career in the superyacht industry.

Our goal is to set a new standard for professionalism in super-yachting. We believe that learning is a life-long endeavour and superyacht crew have a duty to continuously improve their safety, security and hospitality skills and knowledge. We aim to achieve this through the provision of accessible and innovative Continuous Professional Development opportunities for all superyacht crew around the world.

With over 8,500 Crew Members, including 2,500 Captains, ACREW works closely with the PYA, MYBA and Warsash Superyacht Academy to bring the best opportunities to crew.

ACREW’s head office is in Leeuwarden, Holland. Abi McGrath and Onno Ebbens, the two Managing Partners of ACREW are based here along with a team of 6 dedicated staff. ZoomYachting Turkey, a Destination Management Company, is based in Gocek, Turkey and is run by Berkan Ceylan and his team. Aeneas Hollins is currently the Director of Yachting at Christophe Harbour.  Will Kaye is currently Captain at M/Y Highlander.  Dan Jackson is currently Manager at S/Y Ranger.

Meet the Team

Abigail McGrath

Abi McGrath is the founder, partner and managing director at ACREW. She has worked in superyachting for over 12 years now; starting out in the design and build of superyacht marinas and then going on to work as a marketing consultant before setting up ACREW. Up until 2013 she lived in Barcelona, a place that will always be close to her heart. Directing ACREW provides Abi with the opportunity to meet, share with and learn from so many amazing people from such varied backgrounds, making it a really fun and exciting place to work. Abi’s newest adventure is being mother to her little two-year-old daughter Beya.

Onno Ebbens

Onno’s expertise lies in the arena of lead generation and knowledge sharing. With 20 years of experience running successful companies in Holland, his involvement as a partner in ACREW has been a fantastic development for the company.  Speaking five languages and having a passion for throwing amazing parties Onno has very much enjoyed his work over the last 10 years in the superyacht industry. In this time he has also founded ZoomYachting the first destination management company specifically catering for Superyachts in Turkey.

Paul Evans

Paul Evans has worked in global financial services for over 25 years. He is one of the owners of a long term ACREW partner, United Advisers Marine “UAM”. In addition he has helped found ACREW United and is the Managing Partner. Paul has joined the Board of Directors of ACREW, to help it to continue with its goals to grow further and improve it’s offering to all connected with it. He has recently re-located to Palma, to be closer to the Superyacht industry. Paul enjoys keeping fit, travelling and is always up for an adventure.

Warren Parry

Warren Parry is the ACREW events manager who joined the team 3 years ago as their sales and account manager. He is now focused on the logistics of creating outstanding events. He was born in Zambia and moved when he was young to the UK, living on a boat called the Albatross for nearly 7 years. After this, he enjoyed traveling around the world, especially enjoying New Zealand. Nowadays he is based in Leeuwarden in the Netherlands. He enjoys to socializing with friends, playing football, learning new cultures thinking outside of the box. The way Warren likes to start the day is with a nice cup of coffee whilst reading the latest sport pages and technology developments.

Jim McGrath

With 20 years experience in education, Jim brings to the table a depth of understanding to the learning offered by ACREW. His last project was founding the highly successful Bedford Free School, a brand new school in his hometown in England. Joining ACREW as Learning Manager has been an exciting challenge, working with partners on their workshops and creating ACREW’s Online Learning Platform. A PE teacher at heart, Jim enjoys all manner of movement including Tai Chi, swimming, running and biking. Often found playing his guitar or ukulele, he is happiest outside with his young daughter enjoying the fresh air!

Marrit Boersma

Marrit is the newest member who has been added the ACREW team. She helped out as a freelancer during a few shows in 2014 and we kept in touch with her. As the company is growing we are happy we could give her the opportunity to join our team as a Marketing Communications Manager. She has several years of experience working in the marketing communication industry, among other things she worked as a project assistant for a publisher and an event company and the past four years as an online content manager for a loyalty program.


Arnold Mbiydzengeh

Arnold is the Account Manager at ACREW. He studied at Stenden University of Applied Sciences in Holland where he graduated in December 2016 with a degree in Business Administration (International Tourism Management). During his studies, he carried out a Minor in Cruise Management. This experience sparked a passion for the Cruise & Superyacht sectors, which is why he decided to start his career at ACREW. He enjoys travelling and exploring other cultures.

Corinna Blanke

Corinna is an intern at ACREW and assists with marketing. After finishing her A-Levels in Germany she went volunteering for one year in North West, South Africa. Near Rustenberg she worked with her mentor setting up a creche specialised on HIV-positive children. In 2014, Corinna started studying International Tourism Management in Leeuwarden, The Netherlands. 2 years later she left to study in Valencia, Spain. Corinna loves travelling, meeting new cultures & countries and learning languages. As an intern at ACREW she gets to explore and challenge herself in marketing, events, e-commerce and the superyacht industry.

Elisa Boljahn

Elisa is the new intern at ACREW. She grew up at the Baltic Sea coast in Germany and after finishing school she moved to Washington DC to work as an Aupair for one and a half years. In 2013 Elisa decided to start studying International Tourism Management in Leeuwarden, the Netherlands. When Elisa is not studying or cleaning the house for her roommates, she enjoys camping on Rügen, traveling the world and experimenting with food.
