Ashley Stranger

Firstly, I am extremely honoured and humbled to have been nominated for this award. I feel this is an amazing achievement in itself and am proud to have been able to stand out and make a mark amongst the industry.
Im from Brisbane, Australia and I began my career in the maritime industry 11 years ago. Having worked in a number of different sectors such as commercial dive operations and passenger ferries, I feel I have found my passion in the yachting industry. I was one of the youngest persons in Queensland, Australia at 18 to have achieved my Masters and Chief Engineer qualification and take command of my own vessel. I have been in the yachting sector now for 6 years after starting again and coming up through the MCA system. I feel this industry is what can bring out the best in us. To be able to work in an operation that demands dynamic and versatile thinking, a resourceful approach and the professional conduct that you strive to pass onto your team to ensure the values of our industry are preserved to the highest of standards. I feel privileged to have had the opportunity to work with some outstanding role models and mentors over the years that have enabled me to build from a solid foundation and grow into the operation I’m grateful to be apart of today.
