Etienne Lorant

Etienne started with a military background and became a professional diver, welding pipes under the 7 seas. He dedicated 12 years of his life to the maritime industry, working on all types of ships: yachts, tugs and tankers of all size from 7m to 220m.
He had the opportunity to cruise the Eastern and Western Mediterranean, Indian Ocean, Red and the Black Sea and Mozambique Canal, embarked as security crew to protect the tankers against piracy.
It’s been a humble experience that gave him gratitude and led him to continue his career as a Captain.
In 2015 he graduated Master 200gt, and then Master 500gt in 2020, working with a crew of 2 to 25 members.
Since 2017 he commands MY Baccarat and set her to the highest standards that make her successful now.
Lately, Etienne said: “Every day, I am still learning and it keeps my feet on the ground. I feel blessed and motivated to work on a beautiful ship, with a respectful owner and a great crew.” And he adds: “I take inspiration from the people I respect so much in this industry and I surround myself with hardworking professional. That is what keeps me going and growing.”
Etienne is now surveying the building of a bigger boat ordered by the same owner while preparing Baccarat for a successful and busy charter season for the summer.
