Firstly, thank you so much for the nomination and taking the time to read about me!

Growing up on the south coast of the UK, I’ve always loved being in and around the water, I think this is one of the main reasons I got into yachting.

As a service stewardess my background in cocktails and floristry has proven handy, I’ve always had a love for service and grew up with the mindset of ‘if you’re going to do something, do it right!’ which has followed me into my yachting career.

I joined the industry at the very start of COVID which was challenging, in a world that had stopped, and with so much uncertainty about the upcoming season it took a fair bit of determination before finding the right position!

I started as a green stew onboard M.Y Nahlin at the start of 2020. I then went on to spend two very busy season onboard before moving to more private, larger motor yachts. During my time in the industry I’ve worked on 5 vessels, all of different shapes and sizes after becoming almost a ‘travelling service stewardess’ in my last position.

Travelling around to use my floristry and service skills on different yachts and in shoreside environments has been incredible and has made me fall in love with this industry even more.

I am now onboard an exciting new build project that I am really enjoying! It’s been great to start from scratch and be part of the team creating a great yacht. It feels so lovely to gain some more responsibility within my new role and has made me even more excited to develop and grow my career.

Before joining yachting, I worked for a food and drink PR Agency called Richmond and Towers, where as part of my job I would help organise luxury supper clubs (sometimes with Michelin Star chefs). Something that definitely pushed forward my love for service! I also used to run an events cocktail bar and have worked as a florist for the last 8 years! All of my arrangements can be found on my Instagram account: @thetempstewardess

Outside of my job I love to travel, having explored most of Asia, road tripped all the way down Australia, surfed in Sir Lanka and loads more!

I also enjoy getting on the water in my free time as a keen water sports enthusiast. Surfing, water skiing, wakeboarding, paddle boarding – it’s all my cup of tea!

I am so grateful to have been nominated for this award, particularly as it was by someone who has played such a big part in my career. It was out of the blue and it is really just an honour to have had that recognition from her.
