Over the last 10 years in the industry I have been privileged to work as part of the deck crew of some amazing vessels. Holding positions as a deckhand, bosun, navigational officer, Technical Dive Instructor, Submersible Pilot and Watersports Manager. I have experienced the best of the industry in both crew and operations. Opportunities have presented themselves to me and my Captains and fellow crew have helped me realise my capabilities. I do my best to advocate that same message that was shown to me, to believe in your capabilities and work hard to achieve what you want.

If we as individuals can realise our own capabilities then it is easy to help others push past their own fears and perceived boundaries. I have been able to do this using diving and submersible activities as a platform to breakdown cultural, social and many other perceived barriers helping people realise that they are capable of achieving goals which once seemed out of reach.

In such a fast-paced industry, it can be difficult at times to find balance and remain grounded. What has helped me stay focused is the responsibility I feel to my crew to share knowledge, to care, to motivate and support because that is the only way we can be better as individuals and as a team.
