The Inventory of Hazardous Materials: Are you ready for January 2021?

Learning Points:
1. What you need to know about IHM
2. The latest news on managing compliance of your vessel
3. Common issues within the IHM certification process
DNV GL, a global classification society and advisor for the Maritime sector and Döhle Yachts Technical Services come together for an informative webinar on Inventory of Hazardous Materials (IHM). Vessels above 500GT, whether charter or private, need to have the IHM certificate onboard when entering a European port next year.

Have you already started preparing your IHM application? Do you know which documents will be required? Do you know whether you need sampling onboard? The application process for the IHM certification takes up to several months, and there is a big amount of superyachts that haven’t started their IHM preparation yet.

Ben Geary, Fleet Statutory Manager of Döhle Yachts, explains what IHM is, what it means for our industry and what the steps of the process are. Gerhard Aulbert, Global Head Ship Recycling, EU Certification of DNV GL, will share the latest news on managing compliance of your vessel until the end of this year. Additionally, Gerhard will share insights into common interpretation issues within the certification process. We will be ending with a Q&A session to answer any specific questions to the experts on the panel.

Learn about the IHM application process to be ready when entering a port next year. At the end of the webinar, Ben and Gerhard will hand out helpful IHM documents to all webinar attendees.
