I’m originally from a small village in the English countryside and began my yachting career after departing the UK in 1991 to go travelling for 9 months and spent the next 6 years circumnavigating the globe. Starting in Australia my work experiences began in restaurants and as a Divemaster on the Great Barrier Reef before continuing travel to include Asia, and the Americas and ultimately working in New Zealand as a Chef.
In 1997 I joined the Formula 1 ‘circus’ working for the McLaren Grand Prix team until one of the F1 drivers bought a yacht requiring crew, I jumped at the chance to begin a new life at sea, initially as Chef/Deckhand before advancing to my first Captain position in 2003. Since then, my career in the Superyacht industry has developed considerably to include extensive experience of both private and charter vessels of all sizes worldwide.
Following my introduction to Acrew and the team in 2022 I am pleased to be able to be a part of their structure and continue to support the programmes they have initiated previously and going forward. Having been lucky enough to have been nominated and won the Master 3000gt award in 2022 I feel honoured to now be part of the judging panel for the 2023 awards this coming year.
