I was born in Setubal, a small town of fishermen in Portugal. I’m continuing a long family tradition of seafarers.
I’m currently a Portuguese seafarer with the highest standards of commercial shipping training, combined with strong large yacht experience, I am a career devoted individual with background working in highly professional and technically demanding environments.
I am a competent Chief Officer and people manager. I have an incredibly strong work ethic and I establish good relationships quickly, built on mutual respect. I hold myself and my team to high standards that always impresses. I have experience in shipyard planning and project management. I am conversant with ISM, MLC & ISPS procedures, Audit and Survey.
I feel that with my Fishing Industry Safety standards, worldwide navigation, voyage planning and large yacht Chief Officer experience I’m a strong chief officer in this industry.
My specialist areas would be Maritime Law, certification, audit and survey. ISM, MLC and ISPS. Navigation, passage planning and training of my deck crew.
I’m currently Chief officer on one of the most famous 80 meters yachts. She is a large princess with a worldwide sailing plan.
She is an everyday challenge due to being a Azipod vessel.
