Having always harboured a love for the sea, I grew up in a beach town, spending as much time as possible on or in the water. In my early twenties, I joined the Merchant Navy and trained to be a Deck Officer with P&O and Maersk. My career later transitioned into yachting before moving ashore to join Wilson Halligan, where I assisted yachts in obtaining commercial certification.
I left the sea in 2011, joining Wilson Halligan and became a Lifeboat Coxswain, dedicating the next seven years to being on call for all types of emergencies. In 2015, I successfully became a joint owner of Wilsonhalligan Recruitment and assumed the role of Managing Director. Under my leadership, the company has thrived, earning the ACREW Business Award for Best Recruitment Company in 2021.
My involvement extends to participating in certification discussions with the MCA and serving as an expert witness in insurance cases regarding yacht crew. Our company is a staunch advocate for crew wellness and was an early supporter of ISWAN’s Yacht Crew Help initiative.
