First Refit Facility in Türkiye to Achieve Triple ISO Certification through LRQA
KRM Yacht has set a new benchmark in the Turkish superyacht industry by becoming the first refit facility in Türkiye to earn all three major ISO certifications—ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001—through LRQA in refit, repair, and maintenance. These prestigious certifications underscore KRM Yacht’s commitment to upholding the highest standards in quality management, environmental responsibility, and occupational health and safety.
“We are incredibly proud to lead the way in Türkiye by achieving these certifications,” said Kerem Baser, Managing Director of KRM Yacht. “This recognition from LRQA not only reflects our dedication to excellence but also validates the rigorous processes and high standards we uphold in our operations. It is a testament to the hard work and commitment of our entire team, ensuring we deliver top-tier services while maintaining superior standards in quality, environmental responsibility, and safety.”
Sole Turkish Member of the ICOMIA Superyacht Refit Group
In addition to this landmark achievement, KRM Yacht has also become the first refit facility from Türkiye to be admitted to the prestigious ICOMIA Superyacht Refit Group. ICOMIA (International Council of Marine Industry Associations) Superyacht Refit Group represents leading superyacht refit and repair facilities worldwide. This membership places KRM Yacht alongside the top refit yards globally and underscores its dedication to industry-leading standards.
The membership was secured after a comprehensive one-year evaluation process, including client references, facility inspections, and internal documentation reviews. This thorough assessment confirmed that KRM Yacht meets the high standards set by ICOMIA.
Kerem Baser, Managing Director of KRM Yacht, remarked: “It is a great honour for KRM Yacht to be one of only 10 facilities worldwide, and the only one in Türkiye, to join the ICOMIA Superyacht Refit Group. This membership reflects our commitment to providing world-class refit services and reinforces our mission to contribute to the global superyacht community. We are proud to represent Türkiye on this international platform and look forward to promoting excellence across the industry.”
Joe Lynch, Chief Executive Officer of ICOMIA, added: “We are delighted to welcome KRM Yacht Refit & Rebuild as a sustaining member. The Superyacht Refit Group has a wealth of knowledge and experience, and we believe the addition of KRM Yacht will further enhance the group’s capabilities. We look forward to their valuable contributions to ICOMIA and the Superyacht Refit Group.”
With 15 years of experience, KRM Yacht continues to set new standards in the Turkish superyacht refit industry. The company extends its heartfelt gratitude to its team, clients, and partners for their continued support and looks forward to maintaining its leadership in the industry.
Biggest Travel Lift in Türkiye Begins Assembly
Moreover, the assembly of Turkey’s biggest travel lift—capable of lifting 900 tonnes—has commenced at KRM Yacht’s state-of-the-art facility. This monumental piece of equipment, featuring cutting-edge technology and robust design, is set to redefine efficiency and capacity in the Turkish superyacht industry. Early images reveal the integration of its powerful wheels, specially engineered and imported from Italy, marking the beginning of a new era for KRM Yacht.
Once fully operational, this 900-tonne travel lift will be the most advanced and largest of its kind in Türkiye, enabling KRM Yacht to accommodate superyachts up to 70 meters with unmatched precision and care. It will allow the facility to handle more complex refit and maintenance projects with greater flexibility, ultimately enhancing the service offerings for clients and partners.
This landmark development further underscores KRM Yacht’s commitment to investing in innovative infrastructure and delivering world-class services. With the travel lift expected to be fully operational by October, the company is poised to set new industry standards and solidify its leadership in the superyacht refit sector.
