Alison worked on yachts for 15 years before going land-based to start a family. She joined the PYA as Service Record Book Manager in 2005 where she spent the next 11 meeting many different people, checking their sea time and generally participating in a very busy office and all that this entailed. She finally threw down her pen and handed over the responsibility of the SRBs in October 2016 and at this point, she joined the PYA Council as a Service Record Book Officer, responsible for the second level check of sea time after it has been verified by the Service Record Book Manager. She also acts as an advisor to yacht crew on behalf of the PYA, offering assistance on NoE applications, career planning and certification queries.
