The principal benefit of improving situational awareness is that small improvements can make drastic changes. These improvements do not cost much in terms of time and money and if the Captains and leaders onboard possess excellent situational awareness then it will reap great benefits and ultimately prevent unwanted incidents onboard. It works because it allows problems to be caught when they are small enough to deal with easily and encourages a broad perspective and careful listening. Attendees will have an intense short course in all of the elements of situational awareness, providing much food for thought for improving practice personally and for yacht teams. Wayne will be on hand throughout the event to talk individually about any of the issues raised.
