I have been in yachting for 2 and a half years now. I have always been very sporty, played a lot of rugby throughout school and uni and finally decided an office job in London wasn’t for me so I decided to join yachting.
I am half English and half Portuguese so have spent many holidays at my family house in Portugal on the lake doing a variety watersports, mono skiing being my favourite! This July will mark two years that I have been on Gene Machine. I think it’s important to stand out from the crowd as the yachting industry can get extremely saturated so to get the job on Gene Machine I actually wrote them a poem! They loved it, I got the job and I recently got promoted to Bosun at the beginning of this year. I still have so much to learn and I am excited to progress and get my OOW but also proud of where I have got to so far. I like to think I have an infectious positive attitude and reflect this in everything I do!
