I joined the yachting industry in early 2013, while I was completing my masters degree in Environmental Education. My initial plan was to work in the industry for a year and then pursue an academic career. Needless to say 8 years later I am still enjoying every moment of it. I am a chief stewardess/purser therefore I am continuously challenged in my role to reduce the amount of Waste onboard and move towards a sustainable future. My go to items are karacher steamer for sanitizing areas, and compact RO water purifier for crew and guests. Sustainability is not about only changing your own actions onboard, but by fostering awareness in people around you so that they can take that the skills and put in them action.
