The problem of bullying and harassment is addressed in this presentation from maritime professional trade union Nautilus International. Their extensive research across the maritime industry has led to the creation of training materials as well as them representing some of their members in legal action. As in all industries, the problems stem from the culture onboard and the fear of speaking out due to worries about dismissal. The workshop is for leaders onboard and all crew that are interested in improving standards in the industry for all. ACREW welcome the move to embrace working practices that allow crew to undertake the job they are trained to do as professionals.
