Gerhard Aulbert

I am involved in environmental business since 1987. My graduate degree is Diploma in Environmental Engineering.
I am working with DNV GL since 2011 within Maritime Classification in Hamburg. I am heading the ship recycling unit and we are focussing on certification- and verification services related to the IMO and EU standards mainly on behalf of Flag States. Since 2019 I am also Head of EU certification unit. The focus is on emission report verification under IMO and EU scheme.
Before I have worked on several public sustainability projects in South Asia and Middle East. The projects have been related to the optimization and development of public services such as public transport, waste management and city cleaning. My role has been Sustainability Consultant for the Emirates in Dubai and Riyadh on topics like privatization of public services.
In Malaysia, I have worked as Managing Director of Sarawak Waste Management Sdn. Bhd., Malaysia, on waste management strategy planning and operation for the State Sarawak.
