Firstly I’d like to begin by saying a big THANK YOU for the nomination of ACREW Awards in 2021.
I’m Jess- host of The Seaworthy Stew Podcast. I’m an Aussie yacht stewardess now living life back on land after nearly 6 years traveling the world working on superyachts.
I’m here to share how you can do it too… because I just had the time of my life! My yachting adventure began in The Bahamas in 2015 after seeing a friend on Facebook posting her new #yachtlife on social media, that’s what drew me to becoming a stewardess. The travel without the price tag, meeting new people, earning good money, and learning new skills all whilst living onboard a luxury yacht.
Yachting is the best career move I ever made and now I get to SHARE all my knowledge with aspiring yachties on how to break into this incredible industry with confidence. I started The Seaworthy Stew business in August 2020 with the hope to inspire people to take the leap to work at sea, from wherever they are in the world as online offerings are accessible to all.
I have a series of online courses teaching what is required to prepare for a career in yachting, the proven steps to successfully land your first job, and how to survive and thrive in this unique industry. I don’t believe people should have to pay thousands of dollars for training just to enter the industry- this is why I chose to break down everything I knew from six years working onboard to help people start their yachting journey faster and without the hefty price tag.
I love my community which continues to grow every day, nothing lights me up more than seeing people land their dream job at sea. This pushes me to continue to create new training, guides and provide continuous support for those who are serious about becoming a stew or a deckhand. As when I first started there was no information out there, you just winged it!
With exciting things planned for 2021, I can’t wait to share more with you all. For now, I will continue to post all my tips and guidance over on www.theseaworthystew or on IG @theseaworthystew.
