ACREW, the leader in providing professional development opportunities within the superyacht industry, in collaboration with Seascope Maritime Training, the distinguished maritime training provider, hosted the exclusive Official Crew Lounge at the Palma International Boat Show. This unforgettable event took place from the 25th until the 27th of April in the Palma Superyacht Village. This event featured three days filled with immersive workshops and seminars aimed at career and skill development. Besides this, it was a perfect opportunity for networking, free drinks, and partying.
The first day started with an interactive panel discussion where the attendees explored the importance of industry collaboration, partnerships, and networking opportunities. Following this, the attendees indulged in appetising Apero Nibble Boxes. In the afternoon the crew learned about proper management of medical trauma on board, leadership skills, and deck care essentials. The day ended with a Happy Hour, during which the everyone enjoyed free drinks, and Photo Bingo while dancing to the tunes of our DJs.
On the second day, the event began an immersive panel discussion about crew wellbeing, support and professional development. During lunch, the crew enjoyed delectable dishes ranging from Crisp Veggie Crudites to Organic Dips and Cured Charcuterie. The attendees also had a chance to master the superyacht paint maintenance and repair strategies, learn about crew personal safety, and discover the secrets of the Balearics and the cruising grounds. In the evening, the participants enjoyed the free drinks, while networking and listening to the beats provided by our DJs.
On the last day, the attendees joined a pilates session and a run during a health and wellness morning. The crew learned about digitising logbooks, and automated monitoring, gained an understanding of preserved and fresh flowers, and improved their table decorations while embracing sustainability. The event ended with an Official End of Show Party where the crew danced the night away surrounded by fellow industry professionals and friends.
