ACREW, the leader in professional development within the superyacht industry, and Damen Yachting, the master yacht builder behind Amels superyachts, SeaXplorer expedition yachts, Yacht Support vessels and major yacht refits, hosted the exclusive Damen Yachting Captain Fam Trip. This event took place from the 17th to the 19th of April and was designed specifically for industry-leading captains. The captains had a fantastic opportunity to experience the outstanding quality and craftsmanship that makes every Damen yacht. Moreover, they had the chance to forge meaningful connections with fellow industry-leading captains.
On the first day, the captains enjoyed drinks during the Meet & Greet at the Hotel Bar in Vlissingen. After this, the captains ended the night with appetising dinner and drinks at Restaurant Barres, which proved to be an ideal chance to forge meaningful connections with fellow captains.
During the second day, the captains enjoyed immersive presentations about Damen Yachting’s current and future projects. This was followed by a tour of Damen Yachting Shipyard. Moreover, the attendees enjoyed e-sim formula one driving, and delectable meals during the dinner in the evening.
On the last day, the captains travelled to Vlissingen East Shipyard and got an insight into the ongoing projects of Damen Yachting. The event ended with captains enjoying a delightful lunch, which was a perfect opportunity to network with fellow industry professionals.
“It was a very insightful experience full of great people, impressive projects and teams, the organisation was extraordinary, the group of captains very cool, it was really worthwhile,” said captain Tobias Oberholzer, one of the participants. Captain Lauri Backman, commented, “Trip was well-organised and superseded my expectations!”
