ACREW Insights

An invite-only, Captain and First Officer orientated event.

During this event, Captains and First Officers learnt about navigating through relationships to succeed in your role as a captain and through your team and contractors in a seminar by Crew-Glue. Ahoy Club shared insights into planning for a successful charter season. Luxurious delicacies and health drinks were provided from NeKo Yacht Supply before the headline seminar in the presence of Diego Colon, the descendant of the iconic Christopher Columbus and general manager at the Astilleros shipyard. He shared an insight into the history of oceanic navigation dating back to the 13th century and the time of Marco Polo. Exploring the advent of the printing press popularised Marco Polo’s texts and spreading the Arabic works on Cosmography and the Iberian knowledge of astronomy. Christopher Columbus famously applied this new knowledge in search of the Asian continent.

It was followed by a three-course lunch at Galibos, where the professionals will be granted the opportunity to discuss the mornings’ events 1-2-1.

ACREW’s first-ever Insight day – connecting serious yacht crew with interesting topics and knowledgeable people.
