The first event of 2015 organised by ACREW was held on Friday 27th February in Antibes. These types of events are organised to facilitate crew and to introduce them to professional development opportunities. ACREW encourages inter-professional exchanges between crew and business experts by offering free workshops, discussion groups, networking and social activities at events in yacht shows, shipyards and marinas.
ACREW Antibes was a one day crew professional development event taking place in a marquee at the IYCA Dock. The 2 hour workshops that were given:
- “Hiring with X-Ray Vision” by Alison Rentoul (The Crew Coach) for Captains
- “Creating high performing interior teams” by Peter Vogel (IYS) for Interior Crew
- “Ropes & Rigging” by Jean Christophe (GREMCO) for Deck Crew
Besides the workshops, you were able to register for personal one2one review sessions with Oliver Maher of United Advisers Marine. and Tim Reedman of St James’s place. These financial experts can advise you on all aspects of personal planning, be it short, medium or long term needs, including personal savings, retirement planning, taxation planning, wills and protection.
Our catering partners NEKO were serving delicious snacks and lunch for all workshop attendees and crew visiting to speak with our onsite personal development specialists.
After the workshops, you were able to attend the happy hour from 17.00 – 19.00, where free drinks was provided for all crew and live music featuring Alan Roberts from the very well-known rock band in the South of France called the Blah Blah’s.
