Hi there,
My names Ben , I am 36 years old reigning from the gorgeous god’s country of Burleigh Heads, QLD –
Australia.
I have been travelling the globe, working on yachts for the past 9 years, illustrating my journey of
culture, landscapes people and places through photography and videography.
Things that drive me are passion, creativity, craftsmanship and travel.
I joined M/Y Solandge back in 2014, where I worked as a carpenter deckhand. My passion for photos
soon became obvious through the influence of the places and people I was surrounded with.
4 Years down the track, I was given the opportunity to do a build as a senior deck / carpenter on board
136 M – M/Y Flying Fox. Nearly 5 years have passed, and I still love it here, working as Bosun and doing
shoots for marketing and charter purposes, and still love getting hands on with big projects around the
vessel.
More recently my photography was published in various yachting magazines and on the front cover of
the Lurssen annual calendar.
Motivation towards joining the 2023 crew awards for me , are to see all the creative deckies, stews and
engos out there flaunt their stuff. A lot has changed for me, and the industry since joining in 2014 , so
keen to see what people are doing , and share a bit of my own knowledge towards choosing some epic
humans for the 2023 awards!
