Business Director LNG fuelled ships

Since the late 80ies Gerd-Michael Würsig is working in shipping with a special focus on liquefied gas technology. After graduating from Hannover University as a master of science for energy and process technology he worked in research projects related to liquefied hydrogen until the early 90ies. His dissertation is related to a ship propulsion system based on this fuel. He is now working as Business Director LNG fueled ships with DNV after being in classification business as coordinator for gas technology, project manager, research engineer and technical consultant on process technology, energy efficiency matters and liquefied gases. His work in rule development is related to liquefied gases and fuel cell technology. He participated in the development of IMO regulations since the early 90ies and to different SIGTTO (e.g. revision of the IGC-Code) and ISO working groups (e.g. on bunker requirements for LNG). With regard to gas as ship fuel he worked on class rules and as a member of several IMO CGs on the development of the International Code for Gas as Ship fuel (IGF-Code) and the Interim Guidelines for Gas as Ship Fuel (MSC.285(86))
