Born in Petrópolis, a mountainous city in the middle of the forest in the state of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Marco Lima as he likes to be called, the Chef has a postgraduate degree in Gastronomy and has 2 specializations in the area. He has worked on TV programs in Brazil, cooking live on weekday mornings. The chef also worked in restaurants in Rio de Janeiro, Curitiba, São Paulo and it was in the south of Brazil that he had a great experience at Hospital Marcelino Champagnat, a renowned hospital. The chef is also part of the gastronomy committee at Petrópolis, his city.
But of course, it was by watching his grandparents cook that the chef acquired the concept of comfort food and based it on real food!
Now almost 12 years, Marco has worked as a private chef on yachts and villas in the Caribbean, USA and the Mediterranean. The chef says he works an average of 16 hours a day, when the owners and friends are on board; “It’s a very heavy routine; having to prepare all meals following all dietary restrictions, such as vegan and gluten free.” In addition to the desserts, true works of art.
In 2018 and 2019, chef Marco was the winner of the Acrew Awards, which is an award for the yacht sector, which values all professionals in the area around the world. Today he feels honored to be able to contribute as a judge to this great event in the yachting sector.
Chef Marco is currently on a 52m yacht, which sails all over the world, mainly doing seasons in the Caribbean and Mediterranean and some seasons in the Pacific.
