Mark Wood, Director and founder at Orchid Risk Management, finished his career in the military in 2002 where he served in the Royal Marines and subsequently as a special forces operator within the Special Boat Service.
Mark served with the SBS for many years around the globe on counter terror operations, (maritime and land ops) from domestic shores to the Middle East and Africa.
After leaving the military Mark consulted to a few private companies on all aspects of security. He lectured on behalf of the IMO for the application and implementation of the ISPS code to developing countries across the Caribbean, North Africa and Pakistan.
Orchid was founded 2008 and since then have provided a variety of security services to the superyacht industry, commercial shipping, UHNW and corporate clients.
Services include providing executive and close protection to HNW clients, armed and unarmed security to superyachts and commercial shipping whilst operating in high risk areas, security training and consultancy, security surveys, professional investigations and asset recovery.
Orchid employ professional security operators predominantly from the UK with a proven track record from military, police or other government service backgrounds, and have supported clients at many prestigious global events over the years. Orchid have provided general security and anti piracy training to countless superyachts as well as providing physical and technical security and risk management services.
