Merijn de Waard is the Founder and Director of SuperYacht Times (SYT), which he established in 2005. The publication has become the leading yachting website for superyacht owners and professionals and publishes a quarterly newspaper as well as the bi-annual technical yacht magazine How to Build It.
SuperYacht Times also publishes a yearly market report and our intelligence system, SYT iQ, is the most powerful and accurate market intelligence tool for superyacht owners and professionals.
In March 2020 SYT also bought the onboard infotainment system YachtEye, which is onboard software that enhances the experience for owners, guests and crew.
The company also organises the annual Gulf Superyacht Summit, as well as the inaugural Asia Pacific Superyacht Summit which took place in June 2024.
