My role in the yachting industry is varied. I still am actively involved in with several vessels. I am the Marine and Military advisor to Engineered Fluids, a company that is working to make technology greener and more efficient. I speak internationally on a variety of topics, and finally I am a broker with Worth Avenue Yachts.
I think as masters we forget that what we do, the vessels we command and the demands that are placed on us are huge. I believe that the recognition of excellence among one’s peers is not only important but necessary. Necessary to those receiving it to remind us that we do not work in a vacuum, and for future honorees to have a bench mark to strive for.
