The teams of the Porto Montenegro ACREW Superyacht Winter Games headed to snowy Kolasin in the mountainous, in northern Montenegro last weekend. The 2020 edition of the yearly Winter Games for superyacht crew hosted 8 teams in cosy chalets, competing in fun games and enjoying the slopes.
ACREW has been invited to join the event by Porto Montenegro to add some learning elements to the exciting winter sports weekend programme. Therefore we brought Julia Rogers from Luxury Hospitality for a few Talent Dynamics sessions and Paolo from Orbis Yachts to join us.
The crew put their skills to the test with skiing, snowboarding and snow biking among the more common winter activities, as well the less conventional Bigfoot, a game in which teams compete against one another whilst wearing oversized wooden skis – it’s all part of the fun!
The first prize of €3,000 was awarded to the Montenegro Adventures team and all participants enjoyed an afternoon of rural gastronomy and a closing party at the 1600 Ski Centre to round off their trip.
What a fantastic weekend it was! The Trident Montenegro crew had the best time, joined later by our colleagues from a Croatian fleet. It was a wonderful way to spend time together and a great teambuilding opportunity!
Trident Captain Murray Tomkins from Australia
This was my best experience in Montenegro so far – the games are fantastic, the energy among the teams is great, the food is phenomenal – Kolasin is a true mountain retreat. My team will definitely be taking part in the second edition of the games in Porto Montenegro at the end of next month.

This winter challenge has been conceived by the Porto Montenegro Crew Club, also offering a multitude of activities to crew throughout the year; from movie nights, bowling tournaments and wine tasting in winter, to weekly beach parties and waterside BBQs in the summer. This years’ partners of the event were ACREW and Red Bull.
After bracing the mountain challenges, Porto Montenegro prepares for a second weekend of activity and competition coming up at the end of March. Crew will be going offshore for sailing and a decathlon, organised by the Porto Montenegro Yacht Club. The idea of the games is to integrate all winter activities available to Porto Montenegro’s clients and mark the end of the winter season with a fun and interactive sporting and social event.
