My journey into the yachting industry started a few years back when I first heard about it. I was intrigued, but it wasn’t the right time for me to begin such an adventure. Fast forward to 6 months ago, an opportunity arose that I couldn’t pass on, and I entered yachting. After completing my courses and the Yacht Interior Service Level 1 at Bluewater, I joined my first yacht. In december 2022, I came aboard Sofi VI, a 38m San Lorenzo private motoryacht. My first position, as a sole stewardess, hard work, long hours, and little rest. After 6 weeks on board, I gained experience in all areas of the interior but struggled keeping up with all duties as a green stewardess. I knew I needed guidance, I needed to find someone to learn from so I could grow into the stewardess I knew I was. I left Sofi VI in January and started dayworking in Fort Lauderdale. I was onboard a 67m motoryacht, as well as a 28m motoryacht, and even assisted on a 13m dutch tender at the miami boat show. I got lucky in March, and amazing chief stewardess contacted me, and after a quick chat, she wanted to hire me. With her help, I learned how to utilise my skills and how to be even more efficient, and my urge to continue in yachting is now stronger than ever. My strategic, forward, and intuitive thinking has been an amazing asset to any boat I joined, and I look forward to an amazing career in an industry full of opportunities.
