My name is Charlie Wroe, I’m British and grew up in the south-west of England and I’ve been lucky to have worked on superyachts since 1996. This job has allowed me to sail onboard some excellent yachts and to make many good friends.
My career has focused on large sailing yachts. As junior crew I’ve been part of the crew on the record-breaking yachts Stealth and Mari-Cha IV. In 2003 I qualified Master 3000 Yachts and since 2005 I have been captain of the schooner Mariette of 1915.
Aside from hundreds of memorable days sailing, the most rewarding part of my job has been the opportunity to instruct, train and develop younger crew during their time onboard Mariette, to watch them become experts at sailing Mariette and then in time to follow their yachting careers going forward.
I live in Cornwall and when not at work I enjoy my time with family, shooting, working my gundogs and being outside.
