Born and raised on the small Mediterranean Island of Malta, boating was always a very big part of Karl’s life from a young age. After working and gaining experience on the local waters, felt it was time to move on to the next step and after completing his studies in 2011 at the age of 24, Karl took command of a research vessel.
Throughout the years he has also worked on a number of large cruise ships gaining vast amounts of maneuvering and navigational experience, as well as on yachts of various sizes.
When his son was born, Karl also spent a few years working ashore, lecturing and training those who wished to pursue a career in yachting, but his strong love for the sea kept calling him back.
Having sailed to almost every corner of the globe over the years and having such a varied background in the maritime industry provided him with knowledge and extensive sailing experience, giving the opportunity to mentor, inspire and help put those on the right path.
