Callum du Plessis is currently the Chief Officer on the 64-meter yacht, Atomic. He began his career in the yachting industry at the age of 18 in 2015 and has worked diligently to progress through the ranks. His experience spans yachts from 60 to 110 meters, in both charter and private sectors. Callum’s journey has included roles as deckhand, lead deckhand, bosun, and second officer before taking on his current position.
Committed to continuous learning, Callum has completed an advanced leadership course with The Crew Coach and is pursuing his Master’s 3000 modules. He believes in leading by example and strives to create a positive and cohesive team environment where safety and morale are key priorities.
Becoming a Chief Officer at 25 is one of Callum’s significant achievements, but he takes greater pride in mentoring his crew and helping them advance in their careers. His focus is on safety, training, and fostering a supportive atmosphere onboard.
Outside of yachting, Callum has a variety of interests. He is a certified personal trainer and nutritionist, enjoys woodworking, and is skilled in drone photography and video editing. Callum also has a background as a professional DJ, a passion he still indulges in occasionally. He is an avid sports enthusiast, particularly enjoying rugby and water polo. Additionally, he loves cars and is currently building and restoring a 1973 Chevrolet.

Callum is motivated by the opportunity to learn and grow continuously while helping others do the same. He aims to leave a positive impact on his crew, encouraging them to excel both professionally and personally.
