My name is Tyron I am 29 years old I grew up along the scenic coast of Durban, South Africa, where the ocean was both my playground and my classroom. From a young age, I developed a deep passion for free diving and finding adventure beneath the waves. My love for the ocean was matched only by my enthusiasm for team sports, where I thrived on the camaraderie and collective effort that defines being part of a team.
Over the past two years, I have served as Chief Officer and have goals of sitting my Masters oral at the end of this year.
As Chief Officer, I prioritize crew training, welfare, and mental health, understanding that a well-supported team is essential for navigating the demanding and often unpredictable nature of charter seasons.
Since stepping on-board my first vessel I knew that yachting was the career for me and I am thrilled and humbled to be nominated for this year’s awards.
