Bianca Jade Murphy was born in Johannesburg, South Africa and grew up in a small town in the Karoo. Bianca knew at the age of 12 that she wanted to become a chef and as soon as she was done with school she attended The Silwood School of Cookery for 3 Years in Cape Town to obtain her Cordon Bleu Culinary degree. After completing this, she ventured off to Europe to start working onboard Super Yachts.She has been working onboard Super yachts ranging in size from 30m – 126m since 2010. Having gained experience over the years and been lucky enough to travel extensively and experience many of the world’s different cuisines and increase her repertoire. Recently Bianca participated in the MYBA Charter Yacht Show 2019 Chefs competition in Barcelona where the criteria was Vegan and Vegetarian food and she gained 3rd place in the category of yachts between 40m and 54m of which she is extremely proud! She has obtained a Ships Cook Certificate and has prepared meals for many high profile celebrities, kings and world leaders. She has also completed a Thai Cooking Course, German Cooking Course, Mexican Cooking Course, and a Diabetes Cooking Course to name a few. Her specialities include but are not limited to Thai, Asian and Mediterranean, she is also very comfortable with American, Mexican, German, Indian, Japanese, Sushi, Chinese, Vietnamese, Italian and French cuisines. In 2013 she met Danny Murphy, onboard one of these yachts and they were married in February of 2016. They work together onboard and have travelled around the world working together across many of the oceans such as the Pacific Ocean, Atlantic Ocean and Arctic Ocean. In her spare time, Bianca enjoys Scuba Diving and holds her Advanced Open Water Ticket. She also loves spending time eating out at different restaurants and tasting the flavors of the the world as well as shopping.
