Having completed an Officer Cadetship with P&O Nedlloyd, studying at South Tyneside College back in 2005, I was fortunate to cut my teeth in yachting as Deckhand aboard the 73m Coral Island (now re-named Coral Ocean) in 2006.
After a fantastic year, I then proceeded to join the Vulcan family, serving aboard Tatoosh as 3rd Officer. Over the next 10 years, I worked my way up to Chief Officer, with great support from the team on board and ashore, enabling me to obtain my Master’s license and develop a full understanding of how a positive culture can achieve high Guest and Crew satisfaction, safety and quality of operation aboard.
In November 2017, I took difficult decision to leave my yachting family, and make the giant step to become the Captain of Motor Yacht A. It is a true privilege to work together with the Crew of this iconic yacht; they have supported me a great deal throughout the last 18 months, and I am only able to grow so tall because I stand on each and every one of their shoulders.
