Have been in yachting for over 30 years working in very different areas, from Sailing Charter Companies, RYA Instructor, Racing around the world and to finally my later half of my career in large Motor Yachts. With over half a million miles under my belt my favourite times are at sea crossing oceans. My main focus after my Owner’s is the crew and in this I feel passionate that they are treated fairly and remain with me as long as they can. I have one crew member who has worked on three yachts with me over ten years.
I enjoy seeing ex crew progress up the ladder and feel that I have a number of close friends who were once young crew on various yachts with me. The nature of the job is that we can’t spend as much time with each other as we would like. The wonders of Facebook keeps us all in contact, beats the odd postcard at Christmas as was my want earlier in my career.
