Born in Sheffield, England, Nigel’s first sailing experience was on Rutland water where he sailed dinghies. In 1995 the opportunity of a lifetime presented itself – sailing around the world in the Trade Winds Round The World Rally. Having completed the 2 year circumnavigation, he found it difficult to adapt to the UK, and the “9-5 culture”. An ‘out of the blue’ opportunity arose and within days moved to the South of France to help run a super yacht. In 2003 he completed his Master’s license and rapidly began to climb the ranks. Having been in yachting for 19 years, has a large network of connections and affiliates in the industry. Nigel has been in command on 55m M/Y “Kamalaya” for four years and prides himself on crew retention, team work and development. When not busy cruising he lives in Ibiza with his family where he is establishing a “Buena Vida” lifestyle hub. This will provide for all your yachts “Ibizencan” needs- from the understanding of an experienced captain.
