Having grown up on and around the water in Plymouth, UK, I naturally ended up sailing for a living from a youung age.
From racing on smaller boats, opportunites on bigger and bigger boats started to line up.
Having had a great time on swans and boats up to 100ft, stepping up to a 148ft seemed like a big jump, but i have been very lucky to have been surrounded by some fantastic mentors in the industry, and have ended up onboard Saudade for the last ten years, progressing from Deckhand to Captain.
Every days a learning day, but working on a beautiful boat with great owners keeps me excited to go to work.
Of course, i’m also fortunate to have been surrounded consistently by passionate and enthusastic crew, which certainly makes my job easier!
