As my house was just a few meters away from my hometown ́s seafront, since my early childhood I got passionate about the sea. As a natural result, I was attracted to sea activities such as fishing, snorkelling, spear fishing, scuba diving and water sports and eventually, sea became my second nature and dare to say that still is my second biggest love after my wife and my family totally numbering five children.
In 2004, following an opportunity arose, I was interviewed by a big Greek Company Managing megayachts and I was positioned as a Staff Captain on a 58 private yacht for one year. During the next two years, I was positioned as Chief Officer on two other Megayachts of the same Managing Company. The challenge to manage and command a megayacht, as a Master was the next goal to achieve. In 2007, I was offered the position of Captain on a private owned 108 ft Sunseeker Predator that I run for 3 years since her delivery date to the new Owners. In 2010 and for the next five years, I took command of a 70 m Oceanfast private-owned Megayacht since her purchasing and delivery date to her new owners, which was also operated as commercial. Managing and Commanding the Oceanfast was an advantageous challenge for me as it was a good chance to move forward my career because of the high standards for her operation as well as her Owners ́ and notable guests ́ demands.
My up to date career in the yachting industry counts 17 years in total out of which the last 14 years as a Captain. All the experience gained so far is the cornerstone that I can be based on for meeting the challenges for a relaxing and tranquil environment or for organizing and accommodating an active, fascinating and delightful customised service tailored to the needs and desires of Owners or guests whether onboard or at shore. My very good knowledge of Med and Aegean waters can also offer a wide variety of itineraries and destinations following the preferences and demands of Owners or notable guests. Beyond shadow of doubt, running a yacht safely and smoothly is a demanding task and assignment that amongst others is based on personal fundamental principles and values such as responsibility, discretion, trustworthiness and morality while in parallel requires the implementation of a contemporary effective management system under relevant rules and regulations in close cooperation with crew members.
