You discover a medical emergency on board and your stress response kicks in, this is why excellent first aid knowledge and confidence in that knowledge is such a critical skill.
In this session, Medaire and Philips will be refreshing basic medical knowledge, learning simple and effective ways to assess the casualty and treat life-threatening conditions, with real-life scenarios and demonstrations. We will also learn how to take vital signs with a Tempus IC2 unit to obtain the critical support needed from a medical professional via video and BlueTooth headset.
During this workshop, you will gain a deeper understanding of the importance of checking accurate vital signs for appropriate diagnosis and building situational awareness for treating first aid at sea compared to ashore.
