An essential medical session for all superyachts covering the differences in the first responders approaches to trauma and medical emergencies on-board. MedAire trainer Sara will focus on managing the stress response when discovering a casualty onboard and how to perform a primary survey assessment on any casualty in a hands on practical session. This will be followed by a brief outline on how to manage medical emergencies onboard including when and how to call for assistance. Finally participants will take part in a practical on management of a life threatening bleed with MedAire’s first response bag the CrashPac, and a discussion on Celox; the blood clotting agent used for uncontrollable arterial bleeding.
