ACREW, the professional development leader within the superyacht industry, Yachtelec an expert in electricity, electronics and electromechanics in the Yachting Industry, and Macor a specialist in ship repair and maintenance, hosted the exclusive La Ciotat Superyacht Crew Event. This long-awaited event, held from April 11th to 12th, welcomed superyacht captains and crew for two days filled with hands-on educational experiences.
The event featured an amazing lineup of engaging workshops and seminars tailored to specific departments on board superyachts. These educational experiences were designed to provide practical skills and knowledge essential for career advancement in the ever evolving Superyacht industry.
During the first day of the event, the attendees had the chance to delve into the intricacies of health care plans, master superyacht paint repair and maintenance strategies, and indulge in French wine tasting. After an afternoon filled with enriching workshops, the excitement continued at the Old Ship where the attendees were split into teams and competed for amazing prizes and memorable experiences during a Pub Quiz. The best team won a bottle of wine and a sparkling bottle of champagne to toast their well-deserved victory.
The next day started with a series of immersive workshops created specifically for captains and engineers on board. The attendees learned about lighting solutions, navigation and communication systems, optimising the performance of hydraulic networks, and discovered the captivating story behind the Art Explorer project. In the afternoon, the crew learned how to ensure child safety on board, manage waste effectively, and got introduced to hydrogen energy applications.
The event ended with Sunset Cocktails & Canapés at Au Chantier, which proved to be a fantastic opportunity for camaraderie and to unwind while enjoying delectable canapes and drinks after 2 days of impactful workshops and seminars.
